Yesterday on my way to work, I witnessed one of my neighbors being taken by ICE. To witness this happening in my own neighborhood was incredibly disturbing and surreal, but unfortunately this is the twisted reality we are currently living in. Please join me in praying for the person who was abducted from their home by ICE. For their safety and wellbeing, that they know they are loved, that they have the strength to not lose hope, and that justice is served for them quickly and they can come home. For their family, friends, and loved ones in this scary time. For a house that sat a little emptier last night. For the strangers, neighbors, and community members who showed up, came together, bore witness and spoke up. That the ICE officers may feel in their hearts that what they are doing is deeply wrong and may have the integrity to choose another path. Thank you to Hillside for the ICE bystander trainings you provided to us. Take care of one another out there. ️
