Youth Community Service Summer Program

am2pm is a one-week intensive community service program for high school students. From morning to evening (a.m. to p.m., get it?) for seven days, participants engage their community through a variety of service activities: painting rooms for non-profits, doing neighborhood cleanups, building community garden beds, caring for elders, and more.

Participants won’t just earn most of the hours they need to fulfill their high school’s community service requirement, but they’ll learn that service can be fun in the process!

When is it?

#am2pm2019 will take place June 27 – July 3, 9-5:30 daily.

Who can attend?

All youth in grades 9-12.
High school graduates are welcome to apply to be counselors.

Where does it take place?

Hillside Community Church (144 North Street in Medford) is our primary meeting site. Most service activities will take place in Medford.

What about meals?

Lunch and snacks will be provided every day.

How much does it cost?

$150.00, which includes lunch, a t-shirt, and transportation to and from outreach sites. Please be in touch with us if this fee is prohibitive – scholarships are available.

When is the deadline to register?

Who supervises the program?

This year’s program director is Rev. Tom Hathaway, community service enthusiast and pastor of Hillside Community Church in Medford.

He and all other leaders (we are committed to having a 5:1 student-to-leader ratio or better) have received CORI background checks.

Why is a church running this program?

Serving our neighbors is the heart of what we do. Whether you are a person of faith or no faith at all, if you want to join us in this work, we’re glad to have you with us!
