In this final sermon of our series on the Lord’s Prayer, we explore its surprising last line: “And do not bring us to the time of testing, but deliver us from evil.” Far from being a quiet conclusion, these words are a bold acknowledgment of the challenges that come with following Jesus. This isn’t just a prayer for personal protection – it’s a preparation for the opposition we face when we live out the radical love and justice of God’s kingdom.
