Jonah: The Relentless Love of God

Everybody knows Jonah got swallowed by a fish. Fewer remember the fish is barely the point. We’ll take the whole book slowly and find a God whose love is relentless, the kind that chases a runaway prophet across the sea and keeps reaching the people he’d rather it skipped. Because Jonah doesn’t run for fear God will fail. He runs for fear God will love the wrong people, and love them anyway. Come find out how far that love is willing to go.

Lost in Translation

This is a sermon on Psalm 23, the psalm you think you know. "The Lord is my shepherd." "The valley of the shadow of death." You've heard it read at every funeral you've ever been to. Here's the thing: the King James translators knew some of it wasn't quite right, and used it anyway. This is a verse by verse walk through the psalm everybody knows and nobody's actually read, and the real version turns out to be something very different from the the one you memorized.

Scripture References: Psalms 23:1-6
